CELEBRATION formed late in 2007, from within the Cottontown Chorus, Bolton’s famous Barbershop Chorus who are 4 times consecutive British Barbershop Champions and 2008 BBC Radio 3 Adult Choir of the Year.
Celebration got together just in time to qualify for the national finals the following May where they came a creditable 5th. The Baritone then resigned – a reluctant hero who never felt comfortable on the competition stage. They had a ready-made replacement in Jack Haslam who had sung with Simon Bond in 2002/3 in a quartet called “Format” who won the “Novice” trophy in Harrogate 2003.
The quartet consists of Simon Hunt – Tenor, Simon Bond – Lead, John Clarke – Bass and Jack Haslam – Baritone
Three members of Celebration live busy lives with demanding jobs so they can’t always get to do as many performances as they would like.
