How much truth there is in it however, is up for discussion.

‘Wait’ as in just wait around thinking that some miracle is going to happen and someone or something is going to notice your wonderful, amazing talent from afar and haul you out of obscurity to launch your career to the stars; probably means that you’ll still be waiting 10 years from now, wondering what went wrong šŸ™

‘Wait’ as in – work like a demon, with a razor like focus on your goals, investing every waking moment to make yourself and your act more attractive, aswell as developing contacts that will help move your career in the right direction – is a totally different matter.

Hope you get my point here. Why not take a peek at ‘The Secret’ Here.

In a nut shell; you are what you focus on the most. Have a watch and listen; take in the points made and see what a difference it makes to your overall attitude to things in general.

Focus on making your singing career a success.

How should I price my act? https://shinymusic.co.uk/management/music-business-management-2/ https://shinymusic.co.uk/management/music-business-management-2/#respond Tue, 11 Jan 2011 11:02:41 +0000 http://topvocalcoach.com/vocal-coaching-manchester/ Mentor Partner Question?

Good straight forward question, which does not have such a straight forward answer I’m afraid.

Mmmmm lets see now, where to begin??

Did you see the programme on the telly recently Sir Alan Sugar searching for a Junior Apprentice? They were given a load of Cheese, yes I said Cheese; the smelly stuff, which they had to sell for the best price in the space of 1 day.
Sir Alan said he didn’t want them to come back with any because he didn’t want his office smelling out with a load of stinky cheese. The point I am trying to make here is that like cheese, what you are selling is perishable, i.e. If you don’t fill the date with a gigg it’s gone forever. You can’t get time back. What you need to do to start off with is to decide how many dates a week you want to make available. Obviously when you start out you’ll probably have other stuff going on in your life like maybe another job aswell and possibly other commitments aswell.

If you want to find out how I negotiate the price of my giggs, then all you need to do is subscribe to the 7 Inspirational steps to getting your act together.

How can I Be More Fabulous? – A Question from one of my Mentoring Partners Beckie https://shinymusic.co.uk/coaching-singing/performance-singing-coaching-2/ https://shinymusic.co.uk/coaching-singing/performance-singing-coaching-2/#respond Sat, 08 Jan 2011 18:57:43 +0000 http://topvocalcoach.com/vocal-coach-manchester/ Hi Becky

You are already fabulous!! The key is to really truly know it from the bottom of your stomach.

One thing I’ve learned is that I needed to calm down on the old ‘perfection obsession’ and learn to be more self forgiving. Once I did that, I relaxed into my job of entertaining and started to really find my feet.

Keep going sweetie you are doing so well – truly amazing progress.

What's the one thing you need to be a successful performer? Top Vocal Coach Manchester https://shinymusic.co.uk/coaching-singing/singing-coaching/ https://shinymusic.co.uk/coaching-singing/singing-coaching/#respond Tue, 04 Jan 2011 21:12:46 +0000 http://topvocalcoach.com/singing-lessons-manchester/ Well it’s actually something you need to loose rather than gain!

You must suffer ‘timidity loss’ in order to become more easily watchable. There is nothing more un-nerving than watching a performer with a severely low level of self belief. If the performer is uneasy, then the audience absorbs this negative energy and feels uneasy too. It’s human nature. It is however magnified in the field of entertainment because most people naturally empathise with someone who is brave enough or stupid enough to get up in front of a group of people and speak, sing or entertain. When it goes wrong people naturally cringe at the thought of a comparable horror ever happening to them.

How do I go through the process of ‘timidity loss’?
I know this might sound old hat so to speak and rather tedious for some people who have become accustomed to the easy come easy go culture we live in but the answer is practice, practice, practice!!

Shock horror!!! šŸ™
It’s not just all about the surface i.e. what Joe Public actually see physically, when they watch a performer; no it’s just as much about how you feel inside when you perform. Regardless of your best efforts and acting prowess, if you feel wrong when you are performing, you will look wrong, even if physically you’ve ‘scrubbed up well’!

Working on your inner confidence and sense of self belief is actually even more important than working on your act. Take ginger Spice for example. a girl with relatively low levels of talent but huge levels of self belief, determination and drive. Need I say more? If you want to find out more about how I can help you make a huge difference to your self confidence levels and your singing career then simply join the group of serious subscribers who have signed up for the Partners programme. There are still some free places left so don’t miss out.
Take care and enjoy your talent
