How can I improve my singing performance?

How can I improve my singing performance?

No matter how long people have been in showbiz I always hear them say that they HATE watching themselves perform. They just can’t stand to watch themselves on video. It makes them cringe, their hairs go up at the back of their necks and they simply have to turn away or switch it off.

Does this story sound familiar to you?

If so, I’ve just got one thing to say to you!

Get over it! Right Now!

Your mother and father always used to tell you that you have to learn from your mistakes! Right?

So putting your head in the sand and totally ignoring good advice isn’t something that usually ends in triumph, is it? You might think my tone is a little ‘stressy’ but this sort of useless attitude is only gonna hold you back and I’m guessing that you don’t want anything that’s useless holding you back?

Actually watching yourself on video, whether it’s of the professional type or the amateur footage caught on someone’s mobile phone, is the ideal way for you to evaluate your performances and to pick out the bits that were great as well as the bits that weren’t so great. Both are equally as important as each other. The good bits so you can keep them and develop them further if need be and the bad bits so you can put them where they belong safely in the bin. This will ensure you don’t make the same mistakes again.

If you keep making mistakes (and learn from them) you’ll just keep getting better and better all the time. The most successful people in life are not those that have never made any mistakes! In fact they’ve probably made a lot more than most ‘not so successful’ people – the key however is that they’ve learned the lessons wrapped up in the mistakes and moved onwards and upwards.

Here’s hoping you will bite the bullet and have the courage to do the same.

Watch your videos carefully and learn from your mistakes!

Take care and enjoy your talent!
